We had a baby-it's a GIRL!

Guess that busy week really worked HER out of me :) 13 days NOT left :)

Juliet Elise Meyer
6 pounds 6 oz of perfection
19 1/2 in long (longer than Jude!)
September 1, 2012 (13 days early!  That's my GIRL!)

In some pictures, she looks identical to Jude, others not so much.  She lost her eyebrows coming into the world and her eyelashes are red/blond, tiny, and not noticeable.  She is perfect.  So sweet, cute, A GIRL.  She sleeps ALL day.  I didn't realize how much she completes our family until I saw her.  Don't get me wrong, a boy would have been great, but clearly, she's a she and I'm thrilled to have a shopping partner, daughter (in general), and someones hair I can do.  Yeah, speaking of hair...sigh... I think I mentioned her lack of hair, "Where is her hair!!!!" moments after birth.  :(  She has a pony tail but not much for me to braid, yet.  I suppose I just have to wait a bit.  Fire vomit gone almost instantly though!  And I've been eating out far too much so my functions are a go!  I feel great in fact.  Well...as great as I can feel with two kids under two.  Recovery was a breeze this time as compared to Jude's.  I still am tired, baby brain, and well out of most days.  Oh and I don't want to do much past 2 pm (but that was the same being pregnant pretty much) ha.  It's SO incredibly crazy for me to think I could still be pregnant now, as I write this.  And I am SO relieved that I'm not!!  I'm thrilled she came when she did...

Speaking of that.  I had mild, not even noticeable contractions ALL day Friday that started at 9:35 am after doctor appt.  Oh that doctor appt was good :)  No growth, no gain, hb 140's I think.  Anyways, I guess I did notice them but they were not painful.  10:45pm that night I realized they *may* be getting stronger.  Thought bed was a good idea.  12 am woke up to a contraction, "Great, what is this!?"  I laid in bed until about 1:30ish where I found myself uncomfortable and needing to relocate.  Clocked them then.  About 5-6 minutes apart.  To the bouncy ab ball I bounced for an hour.  2:30am I woke John up and sat in the tub.  4 am I told John he needs to shower if he wants because "they aren't getting any better" but more frequent and painful.  Then I showered.  Yep, I was crazy.  It was quite interesting though :)  5 am called my mom to come over b/c I was ready for drugs!  6:30 am finally got to the hospital.  WOW worst contractions in the car ever.  Go figure, so hard to work through those in the car.  I told John to go faster but of course, it was rainy.  7:30am finally got some relief and what do you know, the rest flew at lightening speed.  Juliet made her grand appearance at 8:58am!  John called out "It's a boy!"  Doctor said, "No, it's a girl"...It was perfect.  She's perfect. The whole labor experience was exactly what I wanted.  So different than Jude's.

                                                                   Similar to Jude

His baby finally!  We can stop measuring bellies!

                                                                                Love.

We ate and then ran.  Steak dinner followed by bed in MY BED and our first rough night :)

So we've all been adjusting.  Took me awhile to get here because well I just had a baby!  No, trying to help Jude adjust.  What's funny is that he almost could care less about Juliet.  So far at least.  He doesn't care that I hold her, cart her around all day, etc.  I am sooo lucky with that!  But he's still getting in the swing of school, having daddy home, and lots of visitors.  So this is our first week that I'm creating our new routine with John at work, me carting around two kids, and trying to look half presentable.  Ha.  I will tell you this much, thank heaven for Barney and the Moby wrap.  Those are been a great help thus far :)  Here's our first week home as a family of 5.

                                                               She's a cuddler.

                                                                    Going home!

Yeah, you stretch those legs little lady!
                                                              So similar yet so different.

Getting back to our routine :)
                                                              First day home, nap :)

                                                                        Moby wrap
                                                                 Painting on a rainy day!

She's on my lap watching Big Bro play legos!

Here's my lesson of two under two:

Showering is optional.
Using soap in the shower is also optional.
Makeup...I'm naturally beautiful right?
As long as I don't forget to feed Jude, how can I "eat, eat, eat..." eating MY breakfast at 11 is acceptable, followed by lunch an hour later.
Infants HATE car rides at first....Yeah...that was a fun trip home from my moms.
It's best to have a plan always.

Cheers, this family of five is about to go on a roller coaster ride!

  1. Totally feeling your pain with two under two, but you are an awesome mom and if I made it, so will you. It is sad though that most days I do not eat until almost 2pm after conducting the circus that is my life with two little ones! Loving every minute though as I am sure you are. Juliet is a beauty and Boogs was the same with Tank about not noticing him. That is until he started crawling and steals 'her' toys. Still rocking a pony tail and Tank is almost one so you are doing great and look great too!
