8 Weeks
Hey team! We have legitimately made it to 8 weeks! How exciting right!
31 more weeks! Really, 2 months today. Does my butt look bigger?
Well let's see what's new. It is odd doing this on Wednesdays! But other than that, not much. I told my kindergarten teacher a few weeks away ago about the baby and she jumped for joy! So cute, more excited than me (just kidding) but she insisted we tell the entire class. I mean, come on, what type of reaction can I expect to get from 23 6 year olds? Well I'll tell ya, more than I thought! To my surprise they were very cute. Here's what some said:
~"Is there a baby in you now?"- Looked me up and down (head to toe).
~"I bet the baby loves cupcakes!"- As I smashed a giant cupcake into my mouth. (I agree, the baby does love a cupcake).
~As I was explaining to them, the baby is really an embryo that is the size of a raspberry. "I love raspberries." I told this girl I said the same thing!
~"Is this your first? Is this your husbands first? Are you married." Okay, okay, this was not asked by a kindergartner but rather an adult. I mean seriously. . . who says this stuff??? Odd...regardless made me appreciate what I have! Love ya John. (Damit John.)
Okay back to the basics:
Baby Update:
THIS IS BIG! I couldn't be prouder! As John explains "I am 8 weeks and therefore in the 9Th week" and so, our baby is graduating this week! (okay, I think I'm premature with this but by the end of this week, our baby will have graduated!) Aunt Jan, please just send something small, nothing too big :) Our scholar-to-be has ended her embryonic stage or is about to and is entering the fetal period now! How exciting. I remember the blastocyst days...Oh feels like forever ago. Regardless, we can now refer to my embryo as a fetus until November 10 when it will be an infant. Our fetus is now the size of a medium green olive! Please don't make martinis with her!
Weight:107 So at the docs I weigh 110lbs and that is with the more reliable scale, at home 107 with the lighter of course I like better scale. So according to MY scale, no change. I got back in 4 weeks, well see if the 110 changes :) Granted I did eat 3 hotdogs and had Mr. Goodscents this morning. John do you think that'll make my weight go up? Lol. JK.
Symptoms: I would not say I'm feeling 100% like my lucky sister did and does now...I am more like 83% on a good day and as low as 70% on some days. Monday and Tuesday were def 70% days. YUCK! John and I have decided one child is plenty. I've realized that if I don't eat hourly, I feel awful. No no no, really hourly. My friend Carol at work laughs at me and the amount of bananas, tangerines, carrots, and tomatoes I eat. John's work friend asked if I am growing a monkey...to his surprise, I am considering a jungle theme for the baby room! LOL. Let me describe:
Wake up: 7 eat cereal immediately and entire bottle of water
Shower: 7:30 need more water
9: Arrived at work ready for granola bar and water
10: Carrots and grape tomatoes this morning!
11: Crackers
12:30: Finally lunch (normal ya know, fruit, pasta, water, sometimes I treat with a piece of chocolate or 20.)
2: Banana
3: Snack with class
Psh then I'm home by 4:30 snacking before we eat dinner. As awesome as this sounds, it's annoying as ever! I have a stash of food at work and just leave it there, then have to remember to bring this to class M,Wed,Th. I even snack in the car to class! How do I not weigh 300 lbs?
Cravings: Well nothing really sounds fabulous besides Mandarin Garden. . .
Other random notes: I went facebook official with this. I know, I know, "Kate, it's too early..." Well this is simply just too exciting to keep to myself. I thought why not tell the world (yes facebook=world)? So everyone is excited and offering their names, etc. Pretty funny stuff really. If you'd like to be my friend I'm under Kate Pow Meyer. Just posted the blog address on there also. Lisa at work says I should do give-aways...my thought, "What is in it for me??" Haha, I love work really! All the people seem to get me through the day; great group of ladies.
Photos:
1. Traditional photo...not good, John's not here to take it so disregard that it's sorta slated and give my cabodle credit.
2. Same. I'm seeing no change...what do you think?
3. Me trying to be creative alone...Yes, I wrote that on myself LOL.
Names of the Week:
Boy: Aloysius (Lewis for short)
Girl: Kate, Gwyneth, Helene. Okay, Kate's just a joke, but what a great, solid name. John loves Gwyneth and you can imagine, I love Helene. Watch we have a girl and name her something far from those. . . Patty. But really, if you have any older name suggestions, send them our way. I'm just not a fan of the everyday-so-common Kaitlynn, Tyler, Ben, Etc. You get the picture.
XOXO
J and K and Embryo but soon to be Fetus (and umadog)

P.S. Is that embyro not the cutest thing ever? I really think I can see my eyes in her and John's hair...Soo cute isn't she! Just adorable. We're hoping the child has John's brains and my looks. Hahaha, just kidding, but really...
8 Weeks (really 7)
Hello my favorite fans! What a crappy, rainy day! However, for John and I it was a blessed, great day (so far, still have class tonight ask me again after 8pm.)
Officially 8 weeks today! Alright, that's what this should read however with the doctor apt (also the reason why this update it later) we have a new confirmed due date! Novemeber 10, 2010. No longer the 2nd. That will give you approximately 8 more days to shop and spoil our baby rotten! So technically, I am 7 weeks and 1 day as of today. You may be thinking, what does this mean to you? It means that unstead of looking forward to your weekly update every Tuesday, you know now have a special humpday Wednesday update too look at! Also, it means we still have an embryo with a tail :) Love it....So what's going on? Only 10 more weeks of work till I can be a stay at home mom minus the mom! Can't wait! I have plans! Walking Uma, sleeping in, gym on occasion, spending money. . . Oh forgot John's on this email list....Mainly my plan is to have the grass cut weekly, learn how to weed-whack, clean the house daily (ha), and have hot cooked meals ready for my hard working man! And also, master every song on the piano! Right, we got a piano that I am thrilled about! It's amazing really, John can already drain out my playing and focus 100% on basketball. I'm so proud. Onward! (however, hope this talent doesn't transition across to the baby's crying.)
Baby Update:
As mentioned previously, we had our apt at 9 am today and were thrilled...We finally got to see the little peanut, yolk sac, and the heartbeat! The heartbeat was awesome. 158....Average is 110-160. Therefore, our baby has the strongest heart out there! And they say a fast hb means baby girl! Haha, okay just kidding. They used to say that, however it's fast because I'm only 7 weeks...it'll slow. But possibly still be a girl.
Only 32 weeks left! Thoughts: "holy cow, 32 more weeks left...."
Weight: 110....no change. 5 week doc apt read 110. Thanks god...I'd hate to be the pregnant lady that gains 5 lbs in 2 weeks....
Symptoms: tired as usual, and bit gross. Only two times have I felt gross however it was gross....I find myself writing a paper at my computer at the kitchen table then sprinting to the bathroom where Uma is always there to hold back my hair. (Sarah I think you felt this way recently :) How sweet huh? No vomit...yet...but felt awful. I think I've pinpointed this now, after I eat breakfast, I will feel like this from about 9-9:30am and it'll last about 20-40 minutes long. I can deal with this, let's just hope it doesn't get worse. And to think he couldn't find a baby a few weeks ago, well I can feel the affects of the baby now! So early...so that is NOT good....things could get worse but lets just hope that was just the orange juice I drank those two morning that I usually dont...:) Other than that, I eat constantly at work. The kids all hate me and want some! lol. But recently...feel good. That really only occurred two times, strange.
Craving: Nothing. However, Mandarin Garden sounds fabulous doesn't it?
Photos: Well, since I'm 7 weeks...I'm too lazy to take more.. I promise next weeks will be real good I know that's the best part of the email!
Names of the week:
Boy: ??
Girl: Helena...John likes HelenA better than HelenE...I'm fine with either.
More to come! Get excited! You know you look forward to my weekly updates! Don't lie!

Officially 7 weeks today! Not much planned this week, still off for cycle break, counting down the days till we see our embyro (9).
Baby Update: Our baby is still an embryo but no longer a blueberry size but rather a raspberry size! Love raspberries :) Our baby is forming lips, tip of the nose, and thin eyelids, along with webbed hands and feet! I hope they stay webbed! Heart beats 150.
Only 33 weeks left! Thoughts: "ugh, I can't wait till I'm huge and can complain and get by with everything...."
Weight: 108 (taken at 12 in the afternoon, no I did not gain 2 lbs aready, don't get excited! But this was clothed and after eatting ...) Gotta hold on to the lower numbers as long as I can!
Symptons: tired (uma and I love our naps) and a bit funny feeling. Well describe later when I can figure it out myself.
Craving: Nothing. No more carbonation, does anyone like bottled water? I have about 5 bottles left...LOL. Last night, during class I held a conversation with John; see below:
Kate: "John I want a pizza."
John: "Whatever you want."
Kate: "Make it happen!"
I came home to NO pizza...need I be more clear? I thought I could get away with murder with being pregnant but I can't even get a pizza :( He needs a pep talk. . .
Photos:
1: Uma being goof on my chair outside.
2: We really feel as though we are strong couple with this. Takes two people to get pregnant therefore, here is John at 7 weeks.
3: Me, tradition pose. I know boring.
4: Do you think I'm getting bigger? I really think I've put on some in the last week, you know with my personal trainer working with me and all, I think my biceps are improving :)
5: Ahh this just cracks me up. As a couple, we were training together for Florida...to be the most amazing looking couple, well see how that goes in June.
6: He loves our sweetpea!
7: I love our sweetpea!

6 Week update (which is really 5)
Officially 6 weeks today. Doctors tomorrow, followed by Mandarian Garden, picking up coffee table, and playing outside (72!!!!). Can't wait.
Our baby is the size of a blueberry this week :) Our baby is going on a limb this week as its arm and leg bubs begin to sprout and grow longer! I bet our baby will be on the shorter side though.
Only 34 weeks left! It's flying by! Lol just kidding. But last night John did say that the two weeks have flown. HA.
Weight: 106.6 (this morning, naked of course-gonna get the lightest possible weight). :)
Symptons: tired, crabby. However, I am always tired and crabby so its quite difficult to contribute this to something other than myself, but we'll go with the embryo! John highly supportive it makes me sick. Just kidding babe!
Craving: CARBINATION. I know odd huh? I'm going to buy carbinated water here shortly. I love that bubbly and want it. Soda free for almost a year now! With the exception of a sprite on occassion.
Photos:
1: Uma dog...she wanted to be a part of it.
2: Typical picture 6 wks
3: Home from the gym, scary how amazing I look. Don't be intimated, it'll all vanish with time. LOL.

Boy: Aloysius (middle name??) Nickname: Lewis
Girl: Helene (middle name??) Nickname: H
More to come! Possibly at 12 weeks, this could get really boring with weekly updates :) Everyone have a great day!
