Jude's First Babysitting Gig!

Well we went 16 months without a babysitter. Jude had his first real babysitting gig. It went great! As I expected. Kid loves everyone. I had a work meeting which is interesting because I don't even "work." So yep. Family was busy so I thought to myself, "who can I ask..." After thinking and thinking, I resorted to the little kids (who aren't little anymore) that I used to watch and they were free and excited! Brought back so many memories. Just blew my mind that the girls I used to watch were going to watch MY baby!! I still see myself as the fun, outgoing, crazy, lovable babysitter to them but nope, I'm the MOM! When did this happen!? Where has the time gone!? Holy cow! I found myself asking the girls questions their mom used to ask me! "So are you dating anyone?...Looking into colleges?" It was so unbelievable. I know, I'm making a huge deal of this! But it's big to me. Jude had a blast, they acted like they did, so it's good to know that in the future, if we need a sitter, they can be trusted! Such sweet girls. I remember when they was three, doing their hair, playing silly games, and wanting to go back to play with them. I used to go when I was bored for fun! No wonder I found a career with kids :) Okay maybe I prefer middle school kids but you get the picture. Thank goodness I have such an easy going boy and some sweet, responsible high school students to rely on!

Yep I documented this :) Oh and Uma was loved also. Aren't they adorable though!

Oh and for the record, I only text John twice to see how things were going :0

Yea, that's window paint...
Trouble

Do you hear that!? The car talks!
Yep he runs and kicks. Amazing.

Cheers!

Second Trimester-Already!

Well of course I should have figured this one would fly with chasing Jude :) Friendly reminder when Rachel text me "Happy 2nd Trimester" this morning :) So wow, this is where I look and feel great right! I think I'll treat myself to Mandarian Garden tonight for accomplishing the first trimester. Well here's the best part, the belly. Getting huger each day. Ugh. So pudgy.

Cheers, I welcome you 2nd Trimester.

Gendermaker

Okay, with Jude I did the Intelligender test. THIS time, a friend of mine sent me the Gendermaker test. Interesting. It detects the gender of your baby as early as 6 weeks by using urine. I mean really? Come on? If pee holds the answers to everything, don't you think my doctor would say, "Okay you weigh x, blood pressure is x, pee sample can out clean and good, oh and you're having a x." But regardless, to poke fun, because clearly around 10-13 weeks I get obsessed with gender, with both, I took it. It turns either blue or pink. Boy=blue, Girl=pink. Mine=PURPLE. I mean really? Purple! What does that mean!!! Another hermaphrodite I guess! Jude was suppose to be also. But I guess, the far end of the pink has a bit of purple to it. So maybe because I took it at 13 weeks it's REALLY a girl. As opposed to taking at the 6 weeks when you first can, and it turning actually pink? It's like "oh man you waited so long you get the darkest girl result"....regardless, I give this test about a 50% accuracy rate. Here ya go!

Soooo time will tell. Our next appointment I will be 16 weeks and at that time we schedule the big scan. Will we find out? Nope. Do we want to? I DO!! Does John? No. So I guess we'll just wait another 20 weeks and find out the fun old fashioned way. Which is more fun I'd imagine anyways. So I'm okay with it. But it would be nice to know whether I should wash all Jude's clothes, or just the yellow stuff :0

Another wives tale gender test :)

Pancakes!

Well, Rachel and I had an interesting mall walk today. We got into this kick where we HAD to do the ring test. Okay, okay, I got on that kick. But she played along nicely. So after searching high and low for the cheapest necklace I could break apart to use...we settled in some comfy chairs outside of Sears. I tore apart the necklace, not even sure what it was really...smores? Put my solid band around the necklace and off it went :) Rachel performed. Side note, both boys were napping nicely. We both had to look up what we were looking for...but I will add, I have done this 3 times now, all with the same results. Odd! Boy, girl, girl...(then I force whoever to stop b/c 2 girls in a row is ENOUGH). :) I even broke out some side chatter with a little old lady sitting next to us. She said she was familiar but back in the day, she adopted. Then we decided to ask a man to do it who has no knowledge of the test to see if we'd get the same results. Well, umm, by that time, I got distracted by the smell of pretzels and yea, still looking for that man to give the test to me :0

Side note: Tim Martin, I did manage to eat ONE box of cookies by 6 pm. HOWEVER, I froze 4. I don't think I'll be done with them by Friday. But, good try. Don't worry, John will lose too...

12 week Picture

Guess I might as well add this. And the fact that this disappeared the next day. Guess an ice cream, pretzels, hi-c, and other assorted goodness are not good to eat late at night.

Fetus is THIS long.
This big....

And Jude was so mad I wouldn't hold him :(

Cheers!

12 week update!

Fetus Update!

Had doctor appointment at 10:15 am today. Rough, with going to bed late and getting up early. But we managed. Waited in waiting room for nearly an hour, but got in! Well, I don't know how, really, but I'm down a pound. Ha. All that unhealthy eating out for a week is now my diet. 106 lb. There was a few moments of silence as we waited and waited and waited then BOOM, finally heartbeat. Fast he said. 170, still. He said girl, smiled, then walked out. Really. That was the extent of the appointment. Never gets old though. Going back in 4 weeks. Hopefully will be more pregnant by then :)

Chicago!

Sometimes I have to travel for work. It's rough, but we manage. It was not so bad weather. We got lucky and had a really nice day on Wednesday where it was about 57. We had an early flight at 10:50, got in, jumped on the train, and were off. Jude, of course, wanted to hug everyone. He doesn't care if your homeless, toothless, or a non-English speak resident. John went off to work after a quick lunch. I actually got Jude to nap that day. Call me an awful mother but I also managed to put the tiny pack n play the hotel provided into the closet. Had to close one door but kept the other open. He hated it. It was so much smaller, less comfortable, and yea, I don't blame him. Once John got back we walked to a Mexican restaurant for dinner where Jude looked out the window the entire time making car sounds. Hate to do this, but started ordering him kids meals. I mean, he ate HALF of the entire thing. Nuts. It was such a challenge to get him to sleep nightly. That was the only downfall. So we just went to bed when he did ... at 9 pm. Ha. The second day we met my Aunt and cousin and went to The Shedd. Eh, I was not overly impressed. In fact, when we went to the polar kids place, the worker must have thought I was so stupid. I kept asking if the dolphin could do any tricks. Well, "they are naturally trained in their environment, and it's a Beluga Whale." WHOOPS. Oh well. Unimpressed. Then we drove off to Navy Pier for lunch. It was nice to see them and help them with the bus transportation :) Ha. We went to Lou Manitis for pizza that night. Brrr, long, cold walk we decided to jump on the red line to get back. Always interesting with having a child. Third day was the best. Jude and I walked all around the city, did a little bit of shopping, and found the Bean by accident. No one was there it was awesome! We also went to the pool in the hotel, not bad. Then we met up with John for dinner at Buca di Bepos. Fourth day is today. I managed to strap Jude in his stroller, place him in front of the tv, and "walk" him to sleep all inside the hotel room. He needs all the sleep with our late flight. Here's our fun! (out of order I know).

Cheerios on a straw mixer stick for breakfast. Mom, you're a genius!
Ready, set, TAKE OFF!
This whale dolphin does NOT do tricks. However, it can flip, turn, swim upside down in it's natural state. Ha.
Great view, for Jude.
POOL.
Why not just play in the suitcase?
Jude's in heaven.
Quick nap right here looks nice.
And another one here.
Breakfast in bed? Sure.
Cute little mini Jellies.
Yep, that's your belly button.
This is how we roll in Chicago at night.

OMG Mom how illegal is this?

60 degrees this day, but very windy. I love how he falls asleep listening to trains, buses, people, sirens, walking over crazy large bumps on the road, but yet if I drop a pen at my house he pops up.
Sleeping in the hotel room.

Whale booty!

Well can't wait to be back in our own beds. No place like home but had a great time. Have the 12 week appointment tomorrow. Now, if I report any weight gain, I claim it to be from eating out, every meal, for a week :0 Just saying. If I do not report any weight gain, I will be eating out for the remainder of my life :0 Cheers.
