38 Week doc appt update

Sorry this is late. Rough week/end. Anyways, no real change from last week! Fetus is growing nicely!! From 33-34cm! Doctor was shocked and quite happy! NO idea when labor will hit. He did give us his pager number...then John and I walked out and were both wondering what to do with it. Ha. Hopefully baby won't come till next week when we can clarify this with him! Simple stuff. So back to our appointments Thursday! Woohooo.

I know what the worst thing is...having a cold and being due in 10 days. Yep. WOW, does it hit hard and fast. I felt AWFUL from Wed-Sundayish. Been sleeping, sitting on the couch mainly. Pathetic. I have to get rid of this ASAP! So that's what I have been doing :( I keep thinking about the things I should be doing--very hard to make myself do nothing. I know I need to though, and it is nice. Uma is a great cuddler for now. So with this, we did not do the last painting :( Really I felt like death. I could have just walked around and scared people in my natural state. I wonder if I'll look like that for labor and delivery ha.

10 days. Crazy to think. Every night I wake and think what was that!?! It's funny. I just have it set in my mind that something will happen in the nighttime. I completly disregard day things. Haha. Funny. Well I'll keep you posted :)

38 Weeks-14 days left...

Look closely!!! This was suppose to be our "4th October Painting" but I didn't really turn out. Actually it did, just not on camera :( It's a pumpkin with a glow in the dark face! Can you see it?!

Our pumpkins of 2010 that are now rotten. John was right, too early. But aren't they cute! John did the witch, me the pregnant lady :)

Uma wanted to be involved. Which was a good thing. I tend to be better with carving the more I do. I did this one first...

I like to think 14 days or less. We will see I suppose! No signs of nothing though :( I guess I could be one of those people that don't really "build up" to labor but it just BOOM, hits ya. Either way is fine. I may prefer the latter though! :)

Well, I was trying to recap the week and nothing real important came to mind. Granted, nothing is ever real important. BUT, Becky and I have been having a good time doing nothing :) Ahh, fat days. I decided that no pregnant person really cares what they eat in the last two weeks(or longer for many). Soooo I have taken on this approproach. I know, awful. But really, if food is the one thing I enjoy, why not. Nah, I didn't induldge in more donuts...but now I'm thinking about them. Yummm.

Well really, besides the baby update, I have nothing. Boring I know. In fact, we are just that, boring, lazy. John and I did the 4th painting last night but will add it to this update. Totally unimpressed. Just didn't work like we wanted it to. We can't win them all! We're debating whether to go out with a bang for the last one. I think we need to. We need to do it for the fetus. Okay, no really, I just have this great idea and figure, when will ever get a round belly to do this too again!? Soooo hopefully I can convince him!

Baby Update:
IS COMPLETELY BAKED AND READY TO COME :) Ha. Baby's weight and height have only increased a little from last week apparently. But I was told it will gain a 1/2 pound weekly. Baby's skin has now finally changed from pink to white! Can't wait to see it! That's all for the update. I am considering doing like a 7-birthday countdown. You know, tracking my daily changes, nerves, etc. Could be highly entertaining and rewarding to read later. We will see just how bored I am and how much free time I have :) I mean, I have important things to do here...talk to Uma, catch up on "I didn't know I was pregnant", laundry, maybe one last grass cutting, making cookies...doesn't that sound yummy!

I don't know if I ever added this, but John and I have been alcohol free for nearly 10 months now :) Yes, that's right. I asked my loving husband if he'd want to do it with me because hey it's only fair. I carry his child for 10 months, suffer, get fat, etc...the least he could do is give up beer. He did! We are truly thinking about what we want for our first drink. Beer, martini, John's fancy drink, etc. Ahh, SOON! This is not to say we were huge drinkers to begin with! In fact, it's been really easy for the last 10 months for both of us. I'm debating whether to quit it forever...why not!? Ha, I may be needing a good cold beer though after some of these days to come.

I'm off!

When will I go into labor?!?!

Well, I'm bored. I mean, taking a break from cleaning, laundry, etc. Ha. I just took a labor quiz (that's how non-busy I am) to find out when I will go into labor. I hope this is accurate!!! Here's the results!

Just about the time you think you can't handle hearing one more "when is that baby going to pop?", your baby will decide to make it's appearance. We predict your baby will be born 3-7 days before its due date. Your baby will most likely be born in the morning. Justmommies predicts that your baby will weigh approximately 7.0 pounds and that your labor will be about 13 hours long.

This is for entertainment purposes only.

37 Week doc appt update

All is well! Baby is great. Still at 32.5 cm. Doctor says maybe that will just be my plateau! Who knows. I have gained one pound which is shocking considering what I eat!! HA. Then we went ahead and did the ultrasound to double check baby. Baby is weighing in at 5 pounds 10 ounces!!!! A lot bigger than everyone expected! Should hopefully gain 1.5 more pounds to put the little one right at 7 pounds. We will see in 20 days I guess! There is just NO room in there for baby. The tech said it is ALL baby everywhere! From bottom to ribs filling my belly! I told her yea I can feel that :) But other than that, successful, fast check up. We go back in a week...I'll keep all posted :)

37 Weeks-Full Term!!!

Ahh 37 weeks! How many more days? Not that I'm counting :) But really 22? 21? Sooner? More? Oh what a great last week we had!

First and foremost, grass cutting!!! I got a bit emotional the other day. John mentioned the last time I cut it (36 w-last week) could have potentially been the LAST time of the season! WHAT?! I LOVE cutting our grass. Me and Elton (John) have the best time. I mean honestly, I'm just not ready to end my adventures of the season. I wish grass grew and could be cut weekly-forever (I'm sure this attitude will change). But as of now, I LOVE it. The breeze, nice weather, Elton, Uma, smell, look of fresh cut grass. Sigh, I am really sad the season may be over. I'd love just one last good cut. Maybe! Hopefully! We'll see! So here I am at 37 weeks getting one good "last" cut in, unless I can manage to do it once more! So mom, yes, I made it the entire season and with an extra 17 lbs to lug around!

I mean, fetus generally enjoys it too. He wakes up, gives me some swift kicks, then goes back to bed. I can only imagine me with one of those baby carrier things in front cutting the grass next season! Ha, just kidding. Regardless of gender (but it's a boy), by the next season, he will be trained at 5 months to do this job so I can stop entirely and enjoy my lemonade under the shade:)

Let me talk about symptoms for a few. Haven't done this for awhile. Recently, fetus has been quite picky! I CAN NOT eat crap. Fetus gets very irritable and causes some sickness and heartburn (fire-vomit burps). However, I will say, the heartburn has let up a great deal! I plan to ask my doctor whether it's an old wives tale that a lot of heartburn means full head of hair or not! I haven't quite figured out what triggers this, but I can say if I eat something greasy and delicious the fetus gets mad. I have yet to lose a salad, carrots, all that good stuff :) HA. So although I do want to go to Mandarin Garden with you, I may need to refrain for awhile. This generally occurs at night. Ugh. So once I deliver. . .will someone bring me SPICY orange chicken from Mandarin Garden? Great that's settled. What else? Oh if I clean the house and bend over, mop, sweep, etc, I have GREAT deal of butt/back pain. Excuse to not clean? Nah. I actually gave in and took tylenol last night. WOW. Why have I been telling myself no drugs? The tylenol knocked out the pain instantly and I could sleep. OH sleep. Another thing. Every-time I move from my right side to the left, which generally occurs every 20 minutes, I find myself hurting and moaning. Ha it's quite funny. I don't intentionally do it. It's funny though. Getting hard to put on pants with ease also. Sad. I finally really feel, well pregnant. :) But you know, I know all this will end here shortly. Then it'll be something else. As much as I hate it, I know it's not me...it's the fetus which makes me happy. Crazy little fetus!

Fat days! Do you ever have fat days? Oh quit lying to yourself! Well after not gaining a pound for the last two weeks or what not, John and I had a fabulous fat day the other night!! I was craving great fries. I don't mean those thick potato like wedge fries, but rather, the thin, hot, crispy, delicious, can't get enough of them in your mouth fast enough FRIES. So after debating, we came to the conclusion that although McDonald's can be all that satisfying, you just don't know whether you'll get a good, hot, fresh batch, or old, limp batch. Plus, we didn't want to eat anything else there. Then there's Burger King. Although also good, the BK is across the highway and we were lazy. Too far. We decided to go with Arbys because of the variety: curly, waffle, or regular. To our surprise we pulled in and read the sign "Friday October 15-FREE small waffle fries." I mean if this wasn't a sign, I don't know what would have been! We enjoyed our FREE waffle fries (which did satisfy the following: hot, crispy, and delicious)and I got a french dip (just okay). But wait!!!! We were right next to Schnucks! DONUTS. I LOVE donuts. I tend to only eat them at my parents house though. I mean if I bought them, I'm not sure I could have that self-control to only have one. (Ha, so this pretty much reads: I can't buy just one...)Sooo, off we went to Schnucks where I found a delicious chocolate long john with m&ms on top. BEST donut ever! John enjoyed some cinnamon donut. OH NO! There just so happens to be a Dierbergs down the way. Do we stop? Of course we stop. I bought two individual pieces (I guess I have some self-control-I did not buy the entire thing) of brownie gooey butter cake. Ahhhh. (Mouth salivating as we speak). So naturally, I ate the donut before arriving in our driveway and tried to force down the brownie gooey butter cake pieces but could only get a few pieces in :) But that was our fat day! A whole paragraph on indulging on food :) I wonder what type of weight gain I will have this week....

I know, I know, there are NO m&ms on this chocolate long john, if it would have made the car ride home, I would have taken a picture of the deliciousness but this will one due for now. WOW, I really want to make something sweet now: apple pie, cookies, something! Ugh. I think my sweet tooth is out of control. "Hi, I'm Kate." (Hi Kate) "I have an addiction. . . If it has sugar I must eat it even if it tastes just ok."

You may be thinking "Did I miss something? I thought the fetus did not like this crappy food..." Well you are ABSOLUTELY correct. You can imagine how the night unfolded :/ But it was almost worth it.

Oh my. Well, did you enjoy the skeleton? A little creepy but we are getting closer to Halloween. Hints the "actual" Halloween paintings. THIS JUST CAME IN-DAIRY QUEEN HAS A PUMPKIN PIE MINI BLIZZARD! You know where we'll be tonight! YUM! But to continue, we're getting pretty anxious now. With only a few weeks and days left (20 is a few to us)we can't wait. Ready for something new. I mean, 9-10 months of this is a lot. I only hope it's worth the next 18 yrs. HA.

Baby Update:
Close to 7 pounds now and 21 inches long! Once again, mine is most likely short and small. Baby swallows that amniotic fluid (which tastes sweet like chocolate long johns duh) and some of it winds up in his/her intestines where it-along with other shed cells, bile, and other waste products-will turn into our baby's first bowel movement! NOT IT JOHN! HA, I called it! Lungs are maturing more and that's about it. Fetus is STILL moving like crazy, taking my breathe away, and driving me nuts! Hiccups are still in the butt! I told my doctor I need to be fatter so that I don't feel these kicks b/c they hurt bad now!!!! Psh, decrease in movement. Yea maybe in me but NOT in fetus :)

Thank you mom! Not sure if she felt bad for me or thinks I need to buy more pants. . .but I got new yoga pants this weekend! Look at that adorable band!! Aren't they awesome! I even wore a different colored shirt (not gray) just for her :) I love them! Now I have two and can do laundry every other day, not daily! Woohooo. Oh and notice the hair? Labor hair cut! What do you think? Cute eh! Ha.

Well Becky is coming into town for the next TWO WEEKS! We plan to walk our way (my way not hers) to labor! Wish me luck!

The latest Ultrasound/Xray of our baby-36 Weeks

Week Three of October: "Ultrasound of Fetus"

Well, what do John and I do on a Saturday night? Cards? Dinner? Movie? Nope. The third belly painting!!!! Our skeleton baby. This one I've been wanting to do all along! I love it! This took the longest so far and was awful to sit through! It even glows in the dark in the bathroom! Talk about talent. I'm starting to think I may miss this small basketball in front of me once I deliver...nah, just kidding. But what will entertain us on the weekends? Anywho, enjoy our skeleton baby! We love it!

36 week doc appt update and nesting (pictures included)

Eh, same ol. Rather boring. Got there at 9. Was in room by 9:15. Blood pressure good, I guess she didn't tell me actually, weight the same (no gain, I know, odd), measured at 32 cm (again)...We set up an ultrasound for next week after my normal appt but may or not go through with it. He said we'll see where we stand. No worries. Other than that, not much has changed as mentioned. Crazy to think we could only be doing this for 3 more weeks then have a baby!

On a different note. I AM AGAINST NESTING. As you know, I have NOT been nesting by any means. I find it rather annoying to clean the house once a week actually. BUT, I try my best to "nest" because I want to! I'd love to have every draw clean and organized. So in my agenda I have a list of things to "nest" (do). For example, I have successfully completed the baby room, our bathroom, kitchen (today), and Uma's room (laundry room). This means deep cleaning (as you know). Well, then I got in a cleaning kick and got all excited! "OH MAN, this fake nesting is working, I AM NESTING!" I was thrilled. Then, it happened. I was scrubbing the tub with bleach, singly merrily, talking to Uma, finished, looked in the mirror and ~BOOM~ one (out of the 3) of my maternity shirts ruined due to bleach! What!?! Like I'm going to go buy another one! I mean I have potential 27 days left. UGH. So I hate nesting. No longer fake nesting. Too distraught from this experience! Thank goodness I didn't get anything on my yoga pants I wear daily! That would have really angered me! And it's not just a maternity shirt, it's my favorite colored one. You know, I have purple, white, and gray... well see ya gray! :( Nah, who am I kidding, I will be wearing this gray shirt with pink bleach spots on it until I die, or deliver.

I know what you're thinking, "That's it...not impressed. However, come on, whose laundry room is that organized?" And you know your Tupperware container draw does not look as nice as mine :)

35w vs 36w

35 weeks on left and 36 weeks on right. I almost think 35 weeks looks bigger. If not, very similar. Be interesting to see where I'm at tomorrow at doctors! Yep, I agree, I have too much time on my hands. Off to be a 50s wife!

36 Weeks

The 36th week. Wait no, the 37th but remembering the 36. Ahh yes. Last week was once again pretty uneventful. I mean the typical things occurred. Fetus kicking, using me as basketball court or something, and growing bigger. Baking longer. Doctor tomorrow again. I enjoy those appointments. Even though, usually not much has changed or happened, it's still the anticipation that something COULD have changed :) Ha.

Going grocery shopping again today. Out of Uma food. Hopefully, fetus will let me do the shopping! I've gone back to craving the bubbly. So I may have to buy something bubbly. I'm thinking soda not alcohol haha.

John and I will successfully finish ALL of our Lamaze classes tonight! I'm so proud. Usually we fail out, but we stuck with it and will now most likely be destined to a C-section ha!

Other than that...my stomach is getting sensitive again. I can not eat all the crap I want. Sad day! Also those lovely braxton hicks have truly picked up in frequency and intensity. They are no longer just that hard, firm feeling but rather hard, firm, long, discomforting, almost painful at times. But nothing we can't deal with...yet:)

Baby Update:
Only 3 more weeks to go! Now that I'm in the 37th week, my pregnancy is technically considered full-term. Baby is about 6.5 lbs. (But I'm thinking mine is a tad smaller). I can expect weight gain to be about half an ounce per day. Boys though, are likely to be heavier at birth than girls. And moms carrying boys tend to eat more than moms carrying girls-I LOVE food this trimester. BOY! Well that's it for baby really. Not to say that is not enough! Grow baby, grow!

Here's your photos of the week! FRAAAAAAAN. Fran made the blog. We dog sat Franster this weekend only to find that her and Uma are now best friends :)

"Quit Monkeying Around!"

Week Two of October: "Quit Monkeying Around"

Well, here we are on the second week. Funny. My dad sent me an email saying there are 5 FRIDAYS, 5 SATURDAYS, and 5 SUNDAYS in October. Sigh. Cool for some, but to John and I this means we need another belly painting idea and another week in October to anticipate our little ones arrival. Oh well, I suppose we'll enjoy the quiet time painting! We felt it was only appropriate to have some type of "jungle animal" to paint. I mean A: the fetus clearly jumps around like a monkey inside me, and B: our nursery theme is jungle so I, I mean the belly, fits perfectly in with the room :) What do you think? I think I like it better than the world. However, whatever we paint next week, I'll like better than the two :)

35 Week Doc Appt

Oh silly doctors! Well we had 35 weeks appointment. You know I was so confused about counting weeks!? I would post stuff like so 35 weeks today but in the
36th...well that still holds true however, we found out today that my doc thought I was 36 weeks in the 37th! I don't believe this changes a whole lot. I am still measuring small (32 cm) in the 35th week. BUT now I'm not AS SMALL as he thought! Ha. Other than that...uneventful. Well it was eventful, we heard the heartbeat (160s), blood pressure, etc. He even spoke of another ultrasound next week possibly. So going back on Thursday!

35-Thirty Five- Weeks

She enjoys this weather sooo much :)

Wooohoooo! The big 3-5! 14 more days until considered "full term" and 35 days left until the actually due date! Come on November!

Well, my cravings have picked up. You know how in the first trimester you may have these weird cravings, etc. Well, I never really experienced that until now. The fetus and I ran to Dierbergs for a few things (milk, turkey, crackers, etc) and I did not realize what I bought until I got home! Out of the bag came:

*laughing cow cheese-swiss
*honey nut rice cakes
*hard boiled eggs ready to eat (can I even eat these??)
*pumpkin spice cream cheese with bagels (I think fetus is on a "autumn" kick also)*chips with NO salt added (okay honestly, we usually buy these chips, so not so out of the ordinary)
*strawberry jam (I don't even like ANY jam)
*carrots cut in wedge form (???)
*cajun turkey (poor John, I didn't even just buy normal turkey)!

And some other random things. So what did I eat for lunch?? Rice cake with laughing cow cheese (delicious), a hard boiled egg, and bagel with pumpkin spice cream cheese and I will say, the cream cheese is all name! Did not taste anything like pumpkin spice. Highly disappointing. And a peanut butter granola bar. Ahh it was TO DIE FOR!

Baby Update:
Well, baby is now or should be 6 pounds and 20 inches long! I may have a thin, shorty but whatever! Baby is pretty much done developing/growing. I mean it's running out of room really! And I will tell ya, last night, I fear my child went from went head down to head exploding out of my belly button! At 4:30am it woke up trying to escape (the wrong hole!) It was almost painful. I also had strange Braxton Hicks ALL night long! Every time I moved or touched my stomach it was a rock. Awful. There will be napping today!

Well I can thank the Cooks for my 5 pound weight gain this week. We went to Pi with them last night. . . SOOOO yummy. Never been there! I really should have taken a picture of the pizza. It was beautiful. John and I talked about it the entire way home too :) HA. I highly recommend it. Now, we want to go to all of them because each location makes different pizza! Yumm. Too bad there are NO leftovers.

Well, I'll let ya off easy this week. Not much to report other than the usual. Be looking for 2 updates: tomorrow doctors appt. and then our week two of painting the belly :)

"We've Got the Whole World in Our Hands" 34.5w

Week One: "Four Weeks of October Painting"

Well, here I am on this cool Sunday sipping my hot chocolate :) I LOVE this weather! It's perfect! Especially considering that I am ALWAYS HOT! This weather is great for a pregnant woman. Well, I can't contain my excitement and John gave me the A-Ok to post this now! The surprise is this: (First though, totally not what you wanted most likely ((nope, still don't know the gender)) but I have been sooo excited to do this for pretty much the entire pregnancy! This is the whole point to have a belly! Ha, okay maybe not but here goes) each week in October (if we make it through all of them), we will be painting my belly something different! Yep, see you were so excited and now you're thinking "Really, that's it!?" Ha, but it means a lot to us! We've got 4ish ideas and will be having the "Four Weeks of October Painting." This week, if you haven't already figured it out "We've got the whole world in our hands." We thought this was cute and appropriate to our feelings of the baby! So here goes!!! *John is the artist. Not sure why he put a volcano in South America though ;) I mean, come on, I can't be expected to do all this! I am only talented at writing backwards, up-side down!

Umm the order of the pictures is off, but you get the general idea! Yes, we specifically did pink and blue after debating whether to make the land brown or green. Haha.
